Taken from the Mahabharata, Durjodhon Urubhanga portrays the climactic duel between Bhima and Duryodhana, a moment charged with both physical power and tragic emotion. Performed in the Seraikela Chhau style, the dance combines stylised combat, controlled movements, and expressive body language to depict Duryodhana’s pride, downfall, and inner turmoil after his defeat. Beyond the battle itself, the piece reflects themes of fate, ego, and the consequences of adharma, giving the episode a deeply dramatic and symbolic form.
