He is a third-generation Mayurbhanj Chhau dancer, exponent and choreographer from Baripada, Odisha. Trained under renowned gurus of the Mayurbhanj Chhau tradition, he has extensively researched the basic and subsidiary techniques, evolution, rhythmic structures and melodies of the dance form. He has performed nationally and internationally and has created several choreographies for major festivals and cultural platforms. He is a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2015) from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, along with several state-level awards and honours.
